Senior Datapath Design Engineer – £130k-£180k – Cambridge

My Client, a pioneering force in the semiconductor industry, is seeking multiple skilled Senior Datapath Design Engineer to join its prestigious Graphics division. As a key member of our GPU Datapath team, you will contribute to the development of innovative mathematical components and play a vital role in architecting and designing numerical hardware, including formal verification.

We are looking for a talented engineer who is passionate about designing and verifying arithmetic-intensive hardware blocks. You will work within a small, friendly team of world-class design and verification experts to understand, crystallize, and extract requirements for arithmetic hardware blocks. Your role will involve designing and evaluating various hardware architectures, performing formal verification, and collaborating with other engineers to root cause design issues.

Senior Datapath Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Verification: Design and evaluate hardware architectures for arithmetic-intensive blocks and perform formal verification using industry-leading tools.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers across the company to understand and extract requirements.
• Innovation: Produce patentable work in a research and invention-focused environment.
• Knowledge Sharing: Educate other members of the company on datapath design best practices.
• Problem Solving: Collaborate with other engineers to resolve design issues.

Senior Datapath Design Engineer Requirements:

• Education: Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Electronic Engineering.
• Knowledge of digital hardware and digital design.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information concisely.
• Familiarity with Unix-based systems and at least one HDL.

Senior Datapath Design Engineer Highly Desirable Skills:

• Experience optimizing arithmetic hardware.
• Appreciation of low-power design techniques.
• Familiarity with scientific computing and numerical libraries.
• Experience with computer-assisted verification and writing rigorous mathematical proofs.
• Software programming experience, especially with C, C++, Python, or shell.
