Mechanical Engineer – Bristol – £45k – Medical Device

My client are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their high performing team who are working on cutting edge projects within the Medical Device field. Due to the success of the company, they are looking to expand the team.

The main skills needed for this role are:

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA), especially Abaqus
• Design of Experiments & Optimisation
• Performing difficult experiments
• Viscoelastic, hyperelastic, anisotropic materials
• Friction modelling
• Biomechanics
• CAD & mechanical design
• Coding (Python & MATLAB)

Responsibilities:

• Create mechanical designs for medical devices
• Creating and validating Finite Element Models (Abaqus CAE)
• Experiments in our lab
• CAD and rapid manufacture: Prototypes, 3D prints, demonstrators and test rigs
• Math modelling
• Exploring weird and wonderful cross-disciplinary problem
