Embedded Software Engineer ( C/C++, ARM, CAN) – £55k – Bath

My client is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer ( C/C++, ARM, CAN) to join there exciting team focusing on new products.

Your focus will be:

• Software design from the architectural level to the unit level
• Coding in C and C++, and possibly other languages
• Software integration and testing from the unit level upward
• Hardware/software integration
• Building quality into software using methods such as design reviews, static analysis, code reviews, unit testing etc
• Working to medical software safety standards and guidelines
• Software prototyping to support product and algorithm research and development
• Contributing to improvements in development methods and use of software tool

Key Skills of the Embedded Software Engineer ( C/C++, ARM, CAN)

• Understanding of microprocessor architecture (ARM)
• Familiarity with common communication interfaces and protocols eg. ethernet, CAN
• Good embedded hardware and hardware/software integration knowledge
• Comfortable with use of debuggers, oscilloscopes, serial data analysers etc. with embedded software
• Exposure to working on safety critical software development (in medical or other safety sectors) would be an advantage
• Knowledge of security concepts would be an advantage
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team
• Flexibility, willingness to learn and to work with new software tools

Salary:

• Salary £45,000 – £55,000 (depending on Candidate Experience) + Benefits
