ASIC Engineering Manager / Team Lead – Buckinghamshire

Our client is looking for an ASIC Engineering Manager / Team Lead to join/lead their high performing team who are working on innovative projects. Due to the success of the company, they have been expanding their team. This role would be perfect for a candidate who have led small ASIC Engineering Teams of up to 10 Engineers so is looking for your next career step.

In this role your will running and leading ASIC design and development for our client who are passionate about the development and supply of holographic technologies to Tier 1s and OEMs, with there primary focus currently on augmented reality (“AR”) Head-up displays (“HUDs’).

Our client has already secured some of the world’s top scientists & engineers from worldwide renowned companies and due to the success and growth of there product development activities, Our client is now looking for an experienced ASIC Engineering manager/ Team Lead.  The successful candidate will be managing/leading are responsible for Design, implementation and verification of novel video and holographic processing algorithms for the next generation Head-Up Displays. Ultimately delivering full custom ASIC to market.

ASIC Engineering Manager / Team Lead – Role and Responsibility:

• Manage an ASIC design and verification team responsible for video/holographic processing architectures.
• Drive the design, implementation and verification up to ASIC RTL handoff
• Ensure robust requirements capture and traceability through to verification/validation
• Engage and manage an ASIC vendor supply chain to deliver final chip to market.
• Direct Management of a highly skilled team to ensure high performance and quality of delivery.
• Responsible for resource planning, hiring, support and training of team members
• Project management of the ASIC developments from concept to validated chip
• Define, implement and maintain key performance indicators (KPI) for tracking of the ASIC developments
• Lead regular reviews of the development process, tool chains and methodology.

The main skills needed for the ASIC Engineering Manager / Team Lead role are:

• Proven Track record of delivering right-first-time Silicon to market in a leadership/management position.
• 5+ years technical leadership experience managing digital design and verification teams

Highly desirable additional skills and experience are:

• Strong knowledge of implementation and verification toolchains
• Experience of various process nodes, ideally including 12 or 16nm
• Experience with IP vendors for video interfaces, DDR, and soft core processors.
• Experience of developing and implement Video and Image Processing Algorithms in FPGAs and ASICs.
