C++ Software Engineer (4G / 5G, Core Network) – £70k – Cambridge

Our client is a growing company based on the outskirts of Cambridge, serving customers worldwide. They specialise in developing and manufacturing ultra-mobile core network software technology that can be deployed in consumer, professional, government and enterprise scenarios.

Deployment can be as a standalone network, or interconnected with existing network services to extend wireless services anywhere in the world. We are looking for a C++ Software Engineer (4G / 5G, Core Network) to expand an already-established scrum team, dedicated to writing 4G and 5G core network software as part of our clients flagship products.

My client is looking for a C++ Software Engineer (4G / 5G, Core Network) to be Involved in design and development of 4G Core / 5G Core (4GC or 5GC) Networks, The successful candidate will have done either Core Network Development or development protocols stacks with the ability to learn Core Network Development.

• Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable C++ code
• Work closely with other engineers to develop new products using Agile / scrum
• Work on extensions of existing products
• Suggest and implement improvements on current products
• Plan, design, develop, manage, document, test, deploy, and support new and existing modules
• Development of the next generation mobile core network software
• Resolve issues proactively to deliver high quality products

C++ Software Engineer (4G / 5G, Core Network) Essential Skills:

• Experience with algorithms and data structures knowledge
• Good Object Orientated knowledge
• Software development life-cycle experience
• Agile / Scrum experience
• Experience with GCC and Linux
• Experience with Kubenetes
• Good understanding of Telecoms protocol (5G NAS, NGAP and PFCP)
