A Service Beyond the Ordinary

Analogue Engineer (Mixed Signal and Power Electronics) – £65k/£55 per hour (Outside IR35) – Manchester 

The role may include, but not be limited to the following activities:

  • To create and agree a development plan with the team leader and then take responsibility for following the plan and requesting assistance as needed.
  • To carry out design activities in a team environment with other engineers.
  • Work collaboratively with production and procurement to produce cost effective, easy to manufacture design solutions.
  • Provide support to the preparation of detailed estimates and bids.
  • Provide support to the following as required:
    • Production team
    • Systems Integration team.
    • Off-site suppliers or customers.

In addition:

  • To contribute to the development of the Analogue Design, Simulation and Testing core capability within MMS.
  • To support the Analogue Discipline Lead in the development of the less experienced engineers in the areas of Engineering Design, use of Engineering Tools and Design Processes.
  • With the Team Leader develop the teams knowledge in Design for Manufacture and Product Line Engineering.
  • Support the Hardware Bid and Product Manager to implement Process Improvement and Product initiatives within the team.

Your focus will be:

  • Highly skilled in Mixed Signal and Power Electronics Engineering.
  • Good understanding of Engineering Design lifecycles and the interaction with System Engineering.
  • Knowledge of the application of engineering design standards to the development of mixed signal and power electronics products.
  • Excellent knowledge of the application of EMC and environmental standards in products.
  • Abilty to use design and simulation tools such as AutoCAD, Simetrix and LTSpice.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to write Procurement Specifications, Hardware Engineering / Test Specifications and Test Reports.
  • Proactive “can-do” mentality.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have Microsoft Office suite experience.
  • The individual will be expected to demonstrate a high level of autonomy.
  • Logical approach to problem solving.

Nice to have skills of the Analogue Engineer (Mixed Signal and Power Electronics):

  • Digital and Electro-Mechanical Electronic Design including the use of ADS software.
  • PCB layout design.
  • Fault finding to component level.
  • EMC and LVD Directives and their applicable standards

Remuneration Offered:

Permanent:

  • Salary £35,000 – £65,000 (depending on Candidate Experience) + Benefits
  • UK citizenship is mandatory to be able to clear the background checks and obtain SC clearance
  • Current valid SC clearance would be an advantage

  • up to £55 per hour (Outside IR35)
