We’re supporting one of the world’s leading graphics IP organisations in the search for a Staff GPU Architect / Graphics Architect to help shape the future of advanced graphics technologies deployed across billions of devices worldwide.

The Opportunity

As a Staff GPU Architect / Graphics Architect, you’ll contribute to the architectural definition of future graphics technologies.

Working closely with hardware, software and algorithm teams, you’ll help translate emerging graphics requirements into efficient silicon solutions, balancing performance, power and area considerations to deliver world-class graphics capabilities.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence architectural decisions whilst continuing to develop your expertise within a highly specialised technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition of future graphics architectures and capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging graphics trends and technologies.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware and algorithm teams to develop efficient solutions.
  • Support architectural trade-off discussions involving performance, power and silicon area.
  • Help shape feature development strategies across future graphics generations.
  • Contribute to solving complex technical challenges within graphics-focused environments.
  • Influence architectural decisions through data-driven analysis and technical expertise.

Essential Skills & Experience

To be considered for this opportunity, you should demonstrate experience spanning both graphics hardware and software domains.

You will likely possess:

  • Experience within GPU or graphics architecture environments.
  • Strong understanding of modern 3D graphics pipelines and rendering concepts.
  • Experience contributing to hardware architectural decisions.
  • Knowledge of graphics APIs such as Vulkan, DirectX and/or OpenGL.
  • Appreciation of how software requirements translate into efficient silicon implementations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What This Role Isn’t

This role is unlikely to be suitable if your experience is predominantly focused on:

  • General SoC Architecture.
  • CPU Architecture.
  • AI Accelerator Architecture.
  • Graphics software development without meaningful hardware exposure.
  • Hardware engineering outside of 3D graphics environments.
  • Compute-focused GPU roles without significant graphics expertise.

This search specifically requires candidates with experience spanning both hardware architecture and genuine 3D graphics domains.
