Director / Senior Director – DevOps / Engineering Infrastructure (Embedded / Systems) – UK / EU – £180,000 – £200,000 base + 30% bonus
My client’s specialist engineering organisation is looking to add a Director / Senior Director – DevOps / Engineering Infrastructure to support the scaling of their global software and engineering capability.
This role is focused on modernising how software is built, tested, and deployed across complex engineering environments — particularly where embedded systems, hardware, and software intersect.
You will take ownership of engineering infrastructure, developer workflows, and CI/CD capability, ensuring teams can operate efficiently at scale.
Director / Senior Director – DevOps Role & Responsibilities:
- Define and lead engineering infrastructure strategy across global teams
- Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and testing frameworks
- Improve developer productivity and engineering workflows
- Introduce automation and scalable solutions across software development lifecycle
- Work closely with engineering, architecture, and product teams
- Integrate modern tooling, including AI-assisted workflows where appropriate
- Build and lead a high-performing DevOps / platform engineering function
- Ensure consistency and scalability across distributed engineering teams
Director / Senior Director – DevOps Essential Skills:
- Proven experience leading DevOps / engineering infrastructure at scale
- Strong background in:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Build systems
- Test automation
- Experience working in embedded, systems, or hardware-adjacent environments
- Ability to improve developer productivity and workflow efficiency
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working across global teams

- Not a pure cloud / SRE role
- Not IT infrastructure or support
- Not tooling-only — this is about end-to-end engineering productivity

Salary and Package:
- £180,000 – £200,000 base salary
- 30% bonus
- Total compensation: £234,000 – £260,000
- Hybrid working model (UK / EU) – 3 DAYS ON SITE REQUIRED REGARDLESS OF LOCATION
